Military forces thwart militant assault and liberate 15 captives in Kebbi State

Operation FANSAN YAMMA soldiers rescued 15 kidnap victims in Kebbi State after forcing militants to flee during an intelligence-led operation.

Soldiers belonging to Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully saved 15 abducted individuals following a clash with militants in the Marge area of Danko-Wasagu, Kebbi State. Information regarding the mission was shared this Sunday by regional journalist Bakatsine through his social media account.

Acting on reliable intelligence concerning an armed presence, the military quickly deployed to the site. Upon their arrival, the soldiers overwhelmed the insurgents with superior firepower during a brief exchange of gunfire. This forced the attackers to retreat into nearby vegetation, leaving behind the hostages.

The military confirmed that no soldiers were harmed during the engagement. All 15 rescued victims were subsequently returned to their families. This incident follows a similar operation just a day earlier in Surimi, a town located on the border of Sokoto and Kebbi states, where troops rescued four other kidnapping victims.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to using intelligence-based tactics across the North-West to break up criminal networks and enhance safety in rural areas.
