Kano Police Chief Bakori Vows No Sanctuary for Criminals

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has declared that the state will not provide a sanctuary for criminals following the recovery of several stolen vehicles.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has affirmed that the region will not tolerate criminal activity or fraud. This message was delivered by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, during a ceremony to return recovered vehicles to their owners.

Police operations, led by the Special Intervention Squad and the Badawa Division, resulted in the retrieval of four stolen vehicles across Kano, Yobe, and Kaduna states. One notable arrest involved Suleiman Umar, who was apprehended in Damaturu, Yobe State, for allegedly using a fraudulent bank alert to acquire a red Kia Forte worth N9.5 million from a Lagos dealer. The suspect has admitted to the crime, and the vehicle was restored to its owner.

In other successful actions, police located an abandoned red Dalhatsu Sirion stolen from Tarauni, Kano, and an ash-coloured Hyundai Elantra recovered in Zaria, Kaduna. Additionally, a stolen Toyota ambulance belonging to EHA Special Hospital was found along Zaria Road following an assault on hospital security staff. Authorities are actively pursuing the suspects who fled these scenes.

The owners of the recovered vehicles expressed gratitude for the police force’s efficiency. Commissioner Bakori reiterated that Kano remains a hostile environment for those engaged in theft or fraud and encouraged citizens to assist law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities promptly.
