Law enforcement authorities in Anambra State are actively searching for a teacher suspected of beating a 12-year-old student to death at a school located in Adazi-Ani, Anaocha Local Government Area. To facilitate a comprehensive inquiry, the command has deployed its Safe School Initiative, which is currently being directed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Harrison Oruruo.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson, noted that officers from the Neni Division arrived at the scene shortly after being alerted. Although the child was quickly taken to a medical facility for urgent care, doctors pronounced him dead. His body has since been moved to the morgue to await an official autopsy.
Preliminary findings from investigators highlighted physical trauma visible on the child’s remains. Ikenga confirmed that the police are working diligently to identify and prosecute all parties responsible for the incident. The command has publicly promised a transparent and thorough investigation while reinforcing the importance of the Safe School Initiative in protecting minors. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the teacher’s current whereabouts to contact their local police station immediately.
