FCT Police Save Four Abductees Following Intense Shootout

The FCT Police Command successfully rescued four hostages from kidnappers following a intense gun battle in the Jikoko Hills area.

Law enforcement in the Federal Capital Territory conducted a successful operation, liberating four individuals who were taken captive in Abuja’s Mpape district. SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the incident on Friday.

Reports indicate that police received an emergency call on July 8 regarding an assault at the Yellow House area of Mpape at roughly 10:40 pm. In response, Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi mobilized the Anti-Kidnapping Unit alongside Katampe and Mpape officers and the 24 Police Mobile Force.

Upon reaching the site, officers discovered the assailants had shot two individuals before kidnapping four others, moving them toward the Ushafa Forest via Jikoko Hills. Unfortunately, one of the wounded, identified as Mr. Babangida, died at the hospital, while the other survivor continues to recover from a leg wound. After an exhaustive search lasting until the early hours of July 10, officers tracked the suspects to Jikoko Hills. An intense firefight broke out between the kidnappers and police. The law enforcement team utilized superior tactics to outmaneuver the criminals, forcing them to abandon the hostages and retreat into the dense forest. All four kidnapped victims were rescued without injury and have returned to their families.
