Military Pressure Forces Terrorist Casualties in Kaduna

Five kidnapping survivors report heavy casualties among terrorist groups in Kaduna after sustained military operations weakened their captors in the Rijana Forest.

Soldiers participating in Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued five individuals who had been abducted. These survivors provided details regarding significant setbacks faced by militants following recent security maneuvers in Kaduna State.

Data released to the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday confirms that personnel from the 1 Division, Sub-Sector 5, located the survivors at the Forward Operating Base in Kajuru on Thursday. The victims stated that persistent military activity forced their kidnappers to abandon them as their control over the Rijana Forest declined.

The survivors reported that a specific insurgent faction lost 12 of its 34 members, including a leader named Doro, during an ambush near Gwantu village on July 8. They also provided intelligence regarding three additional factions stationed in Rijana Forest, noting these groups are led by commanders identified as Mato and Hassan and consist of 25 to 40 fighters each.

In a separate incident, military units from the 1 Brigade at Forward Operating Base Anka received reports of seven people abducted from a vehicle on the Anka-Gummi road in Zamfara. Troops initiated a rescue mission immediately; however, the perpetrators managed to escape before contact was established.
