Minister of Works, David Umahi, stated that President Bola Tinubu is worthy of praise for his inclusive approach to national infrastructure development, which ensures no region is ignored. Addressing the press in Abuja on Thursday, Umahi urged citizens in the South East to recognize the President’s role in addressing the long-standing isolation of their region.
Highlighting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the minister detailed four major legacy projects designed to boost the national economy by improving connectivity and reducing travel times. These key initiatives include the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry road, the Trans-Sahara route, and the Akwanga-Maiduguri project. Umahi emphasized that these developments span all geopolitical zones, fostering national integration.
Specifically addressing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Umahi noted that the project is well underway, with significant portions nearing completion. He also highlighted the Sokoto-Badagry road, which continues to progress despite regional security difficulties. Regarding the Trans-Sahara project, the minister asserted that the President’s commitment has finally achieved the full integration of the South East into the national framework, proving his dedication to the entire country.
