The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has officially addressed the recent death of Reverend Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, who founded and led the All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM).
Archbishop Daniel Okoh, serving as the CAN President, released a message on behalf of the national leadership and the wider Christian community. He extended sympathy to the late cleric’s spouse, Rev. Mrs. Toyin Okoye, his family, the ACFM congregation, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
The association highlighted the deceased’s lifelong commitment to spiritual service and humanitarian efforts. Beyond his own ministry, Rev. Okoye played a pivotal role in the expansion and unity of the Nigerian Church. He held several leadership positions, including chairing both the FCT chapters of CAN and the PFN, and serving as the CAN National Director for National Issues and Social Welfare.
His influence extended into government sectors as well. He contributed to the Presidential Advisory Council on Youth Affairs, the National Political Reform Conference, and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission. Additionally, he provided spiritual leadership as Chaplain at the Aso Rock Villa Chapel, serving two separate Nigerian Presidents. Archbishop Okoh remembered him as a person of profound wisdom and grace, noting that his contributions to faith and public life will be remembered fondly.
