Fatemeh Mohajerani, a spokesperson for the Iranian government, announced on Wednesday that American airstrikes in southern Iran resulted in the deaths of more than 30 civilians. She shared this information on X, offering sympathies to the families affected and promising official state assistance. Simultaneously, the Iranian military reported that seven of its personnel were killed and multiple others injured during a Wednesday morning attack on a base located in Bampur County, Sistan and Baluchestan province. The army specified that 13 missiles struck the facility, damaging barracks and guard locations.
These operations are part of a broader conflict as the United States intensifies its efforts to neutralize threats to maritime traffic near the Strait of Hormuz. In retaliation, Iranian forces have utilized drones and missiles to strike American installations situated in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. U.S. Central Command confirmed on Wednesday that additional strikes were executed against numerous military sites along the Iranian coastline and near the strategic Strait.
