Three men have received lengthy prison sentences for their roles in a predatory attack on a woman at Brighton beach. Abdulla Ahmadi, Ibrahim Alshafe, and Karin Al-Danasurt carried out the assault during the early hours of October 4.
The victim described the lasting psychological trauma from the event, noting that the memory of the men’s laughter remains a constant source of distress. During the trial, prosecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters KC argued that the men had spent the night visiting local venues specifically searching for a victim to target.
At Hove Crown Court, Judge Christine Henson KC handed down severe sentences, citing the group’s callous and degrading behavior. Ahmadi, 26, and Alshafe, 25, were each sentenced to 21 years. Al-Danasurt, 20, was sentenced to 18 years and six months for his role in filming the assault. Each offender must serve at least two-thirds of their term and will be subject to six additional years on licence.
