Bala Gombe’s ADC faction demands INEC delist David Mark’s committee and cautions Atiku

Bala Gombe’s ADC faction is pressing INEC to remove David Mark’s NWC from its records, while also warning Atiku Abubakar to stop claiming the party’s presidential ticket.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) faction headed by Bala Gombe has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to update its official website by removing the National Working Committee (NWC) currently led by David Mark. Gombe maintains that a judicial verdict has invalidated the authority of the Mark-led leadership, rendering all their previous actions legally void.

In an official announcement this Tuesday, Gombe stated that INEC must adhere to the court order by recognizing only the leadership faction he represents. He also issued a stern warning to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, demanding he stop claiming to be the party’s presidential nominee for the 2027 elections. According to Gombe, Atiku has never been the party’s candidate and must cease utilizing the ADC’s branding for misinformation.

The group has given Atiku a one-week deadline to issue a public apology for his unauthorized representations. Failure to do so will result in further legal proceedings. Additionally, the faction has requested that the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services take action against Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi for allegedly spreading false information that threatens public order.
