Soldiers under the command of Operation UDO KA successfully located a hidden stash of weapons while raiding an area frequented by suspected cultists in the Obiakpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the mission via his X account on Tuesday.
According to intelligence reports cited by Makama, the 34 Artillery Brigade conducted the raid on July 13 in the Ogbogoro neighborhood. This action was prompted by verified tips and the cooperation of a previously captured cult member, who assisted military forces in identifying the specific location.
The operation resulted in the seizure of one Beretta AR-70 assault rifle along with 45 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition. Authorities confirmed that active investigations are currently underway to capture additional gang members who managed to escape the scene during the raid.
