Nasarawa State Judiciary Sets July 20 for Annual Break, Names Vacation Judges

The Nasarawa State judiciary has announced its 2026 annual vacation from July 20 to September 7, with Justice Hafsat Sanda and Justice Ishaku Usman appointed to preside over urgent cases.

The Nasarawa State High Court, the Sharia Court of Appeal, and the Customary Court of Appeal have scheduled their 2026 yearly holiday to start on July 20. This information was shared in an official notice released by Agube Esther Ogidis, the Covering Director of Information and Protocol for the High Court.

The break is set to continue until September 7, 2026, when regular court operations will restart. To keep judicial services available during this time, Justice Hafsat Sanda and Justice Ishaku Usman have been selected to oversee emergency cases.

Justice Sanda is assigned to High Court VI in Lafia, and Justice Usman will manage matters at High Court II in Mararaba Gurku. The Chief Judge of Nasarawa State and head of the Judicial Service Commission, Justice Aisha Mohammed Usman, expressed her best wishes for a restful and productive holiday for all judicial staff.
