Aberdeen secures Livingston winger Lewis Smith

Aberdeen has signed winger Lewis Smith from Livingston on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee, with manager Stephen Robinson describing him as a priority target.

Aberdeen has finalized the signing of winger Lewis Smith from Livingston for an undisclosed amount. The 26-year-old has committed to a three-year deal with the Scottish Premiership side, ending his two-year tenure with Livingston following his earlier stint at Hamilton Academical.

Manager Stephen Robinson revealed that he had long been interested in the Giffnock-born player, noting that previous financial constraints at other clubs had prevented a deal. Robinson highlighted that recruitment data confirmed Smith as one of the top wide players in the league last season, justifying the pursuit.

Smith, who netted 12 goals and provided 12 assists across 81 appearances for Livingston, was identified as the primary replacement for Topi Keskinen. Robinson praised the winger’s energy, versatility with both feet, and consistent goal-scoring ability. For his part, Smith expressed excitement about the move, noting that he looks forward to contributing significantly to his new team at Pittodrie.

Livingston sporting director David Martindale stated that the transfer validates the club’s player trading strategy and confirmed that a replacement has already been identified. This roster shift coincides with Aberdeen’s sale of Marko Lazetic to Noah.
