The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports that the faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe successfully submitted presidential and other candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as entirely untrue.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, explained that INEC only grants portal access to officially recognized leadership and strictly limits the issuance of nomination codes to one per party. He emphasized that the electoral body would not provide access to unrecognized groups, as this would allow impostors to claim false legitimacy.
The party has challenged the Bala-Gombe faction to produce proof of these alleged uploads. Furthermore, the ADC has formally notified INEC regarding the potential unauthorized use of commission documents, urging the electoral umpire to investigate the matter to prevent public confusion and protect its institutional reputation.
