Marquez Secures 10th German MotoGP Win in Commanding Performance

Marc Marquez reaffirmed his dominance at the Sachsenring, clinching his 10th German MotoGP title and equaling a historic record held by Giacomo Agostini.

Marc Marquez solidified his reputation as the King of the Ring by securing victory at the German MotoGP held at the Sachsenring circuit. The Ducati rider dominated the weekend, winning Saturday’s sprint race ahead of his brother Alex before securing a wire-to-wire win in Sunday’s main event.

Crossing the line nearly two seconds ahead of the competition, Marquez finished in front of Aprilia-Trackhouse pair Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez. This victory marks his 13th total win at the German venue and his 10th in the MotoGP class. Consequently, he has matched Italian icon Giacomo Agostini for the most wins at a single circuit and the most victories at a single event in premier class history.

Marquez, who recently underwent surgery on his foot and shoulder in May, benefited from his brother Alex crashing out of second place early in the race. This successful weekend puts the 33-year-old in third place overall in the championship, trailing leader Jorge Martin by 18 points. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi was unable to participate in the weekend’s races after suffering a broken collarbone during a qualifying crash.

The MotoGP season continues on August 9 with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
