David Umahi Urges Post-Mortem Examination Following Physiotherapist’s Death

Minister of Works David Umahi is requesting an autopsy to determine the cause of death of physiotherapist Mary Habila, who passed away in Uburu, Ebonyi State.

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, is pushing for an official autopsy to clarify why Miss Mary Habila passed away in Uburu, Ebonyi State. Habila and her colleague, Anita Baski, were physiotherapists seconded from the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences to the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja for the last three years.

Addressing allegations that the death occurred at his personal home in Uburu, the Minister expressed deep sorrow through his media aide, Francis Nwaze. He confirmed that emergency medical staff and police were contacted immediately after the event. Although the family previously turned down the request for a medical examination, Umahi insists that a formal autopsy is the only transparent method to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.

The Minister stressed the necessity of finding the truth through verified procedures. He requested that the public refrain from spreading rumors and allow investigators to handle the matter properly. Furthermore, he offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
