Seven Lives Lost, Five Hurt in Bauchi Road Accident

Seven people from Misau died and five others were injured following a collision between a bus and a truck on the Bauchi-Maiduguri highway.

A collision on the Bauchi-Maiduguri highway has resulted in seven fatalities and five injuries. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that the incident occurred on Saturday near Kajutu village in Bauchi State. A commercial Galaxy Sharon bus and a MAN diesel tipper truck were the vehicles involved in the midday crash.

Official reports indicate the collision was caused by reckless driving and the failure to obey traffic signals on a damaged stretch of road. The victims, all from the Misau Local Government Area, included ten men, one woman, and a young boy. The deceased were identified as Garba Babaji, Alkali Galadima, Aliyu Samanja, Abba Abbo, Amadu Guruza, Rabiu Baura, and Ibrahim Gucho Officer.

Rescue workers transported the wounded and the deceased to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi. Various personal items, including phones and cash, were retrieved from the wreckage. Former Senator Isah Hamma Misau expressed his sorrow over the event and encouraged drivers to prioritize road safety to avoid further loss of life.
