Ejike Ofoegbu Experience, the individual behind the websites Igbo Times Magazine and INews, has formally retracted and apologized for several misleading reports targeting Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and his son, Ozonna.
These false narratives emerged following a viral video featuring Ozonna dancing to music that referenced several Nigerian political figures, including his father. Ofoegbu fabricated multiple sensationalized headlines, falsely claiming that the Governor had disowned his son and that the son had reciprocated by criticizing his father in a fictitious interview.
In a recent video statement, Ofoegbu admitted these stories were entirely untrue and lacked any credible sourcing. He confessed that the motivation behind spreading this misinformation was to increase his blog traffic and generate higher advertising revenue. He expressed deep remorse, offering a sincere apology to Governor Soludo, his family, the citizens of Anambra State, and his own readers for the spread of these lies.
Although Ofoegbu appeared distressed in his apology video, it remains unconfirmed if he has been taken into custody by law enforcement authorities. He concluded his statement by pledging to uphold better standards and prevent similar incidents of journalistic misconduct in the future.
