Kebbi FRSC Seizes 39 Vehicles During Special Traffic Enforcement Drive

The Kebbi Sector Command of the FRSC has impounded 39 vehicles for various traffic infractions during a special enforcement operation aimed at reducing road accidents.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kebbi State has detained 39 vehicles found in violation of traffic regulations during a recent enforcement campaign. Rukayya Zakaria, the Kebbi Sector Commander, shared these findings with the media in Birnin Kebbi this Tuesday.

Launched on July 20, the initiative targets dangerous behaviors including route violations, overloading, and the mixed carriage of goods and people. Zakaria noted that personnel are actively operating across all seven FRSC units within the state to improve general road safety and minimize accidents. The mission is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, July 22.

This initiative functions as a joint effort involving the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. Officers are paying close attention to vehicle roadworthiness, specifically checking for tyre integrity, traffic hazards, and improper loading practices. Zakaria emphasized that this is a standard, periodic enforcement action mandated by the national FRSC office. She also encouraged drivers to adhere to speed limits and ensure their vehicles are well-maintained to protect all individuals using the roads.
