Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa has praised President Bola Tinubu, the Oyo State government, and federal security units for the successful recovery of students and teachers taken from the Oriire region of Ogbomoso. He characterized the rescue mission as a significant win against criminal elements and evidence of the administration’s dedication to student safety.
Through his media aide Ikharo Attah, the minister noted that the safe return of the captives highlights the government’s pledge to protect Nigerian children and maintain schools as secure environments. Alausa credited President Tinubu for his leadership and the deployment of necessary assets to secure their freedom.
Governor Seyi Makinde received commendation for his administration’s close cooperation with security forces and his focus on the victims’ rehabilitation. The minister also lauded the professionalism of the Armed Forces, the Department of State Services, and the Nigeria Police Force for their strategic coordination, which allowed for the recovery of the hostages and the capture of suspects without any injuries.
Addressing the emotional toll of the incident, Alausa expressed sympathy for the victims and offered prayers for their recovery. He confirmed that the Ministry of Education remains dedicated to improving school security under the Renewed Hope Agenda, while encouraging community leaders and parents to stay alert and assist in protecting educational facilities.
