Soldiers have successfully liberated four individuals held by kidnappers during recent missions in Kogi State and the border region shared with Kwara State. This update was provided by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
Personnel from the 121 Battalion, stationed at the Abocho Patrol Base, freed a woman on July 7 around 10:00pm near the Abocho–Ajegwuwa–Ohuwda Road in Dekina. She had been taken from her home in Ajiyolo two days prior.
Separately, 12 Brigade troops on patrol recovered a pregnant woman at 3:45am on July 8 along the Jakura–Ogbagbo Road. She had been held since June 28 following her abduction near Obajana. Her captors reportedly fled the area due to intensified military pressure.
Additionally, soldiers at the Isanlu Patrol Base located two more victims on July 8 near the Latta community on the border between the two states. The captives had been snatched from their farmland in Patigi and held in the Chigogo Hills before managing to escape.
All rescued persons were reunited with their loved ones after receiving medical attention. The military has pledged to continue its campaign against criminal groups in the North Central region.
