The Jigawa State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the successful resolution of grievances for over 400 party members who took part in recent primary elections. Alhaji Isah Muhammad Gerawa, who chairs the reconciliation committee, shared these findings in a report submitted to Governor Umar Namadi at the Government House in Dutse this past Friday. Senator Muhammad Dudu, the committee co-chair, delivered the report on his behalf.
Senator Dudu explained that the committee visited all 27 local government areas to speak with aspirants, allowing them to voice concerns and mend divisions before the upcoming general elections. He characterized the initiative as a landmark effort, marking the first time a ruling party in Jigawa has conducted such an extensive internal peace process since 1999. In total, the group engaged more than 400 individuals to address matters impacting the party’s stability.
Governor Namadi praised the 15-member team for their hard work in promoting internal harmony. He noted that the effort has bolstered cooperation and trust among the membership, emphasizing that political success relies on the combined dedication of all participants. Consequently, the governor ordered the committee to maintain its operations until the general elections and established it as a permanent body to ensure continued dialogue and unity.
The Reconciliation Committee was originally established on June 22, 2026, tasked with mediating disagreements and solidifying party alignment after the primaries.
