Military units have secured an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) packed with motorcycles following a successful counter-ambush in Zamfara State. Reports from conflict journalist Bakatsine indicate that over 100 terrorists were killed during the offensive. The seized vehicle, seen arriving in Gummi town with motorcycles stowed inside, was reportedly used by the armed groups to facilitate their movements.
This mission followed a string of successful security actions in the region, including the rescue of an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official named Aliyu Mohammed. Mohammed had been abducted by gunmen in Talata Mafara who also stole cattle and local transport. Police and military personnel tracked the perpetrators to Gando Forest, where they neutralized the threat, safely recovered the official, retrieved his vehicle and examination materials, and reclaimed the stolen livestock.
