Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has selected Omega Odunze to serve as his Special Assistant for Community Mobilisation in the South-East. This strategic hire aims to boost regional engagement as the campaign prepares for the 2027 presidential race. The announcement, released by the Atiku Media Office through aide Paul Ibe, confirms the role became active on April 1, 2026.
Odunze, a native of Imo State, brings extensive professional experience to the position. He is a literary scholar and the current CEO of Khaimaenergy Ltd. His background includes significant work in peacebuilding, agricultural development, and humanitarian aid. Notably, he has collaborated with international organizations such as Mercy Corps International and CARE International on various community-focused initiatives.
In this capacity, Odunze will manage grassroots outreach across all five states in the South-East. His duties involve close coordination with local stakeholders, including traditional leaders, youth organizations, civil society groups, and religious institutions. This appointment is a key component of the campaign’s effort to bolster support through direct community interaction. The campaign maintains its focus on economic progress, security, and national unity as it expands its operations nationwide.
