Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has advised residents of the South-East to seek broader national cooperation rather than depending exclusively on regional votes for the 2027 presidential elections. During a gathering at his home in Igbere, Abia State, the former governor emphasized that winning the presidency requires wide support from across Nigeria, as no single geopolitical zone holds enough influence on its own.
Kalu explicitly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, predicting his success in the upcoming 2027 polls. He noted his intention to campaign vigorously for the President and other APC candidates. Furthermore, he encouraged the South-East to maintain faith in a unified Nigeria, asserting that the region will eventually hold the presidency when the timing is right.
Highlighting his own political history, Kalu insisted that his electoral achievements have always stemmed from legitimate mandates rather than irregularities. He advocated for consistent grassroots engagement over social media reliance and urged APC leadership to maintain unity and prevent internal fractures within the party.
