Bandits Abduct 22 People in Fresh Attack in Kaduna
In the early hours of Thursday morning, September 5, bandits attacked Mani village in Rido ward, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting at least 22 people, including a nursing mother with her four children. The assailants struck while the residents were asleep, shooting indiscriminately and moving from house to house to capture their victims.
In a separate incident, bandits targeted Dan Honu II in New Millennium City, also in Chikun Local Government Area. They abducted a nurse and her three sons. The attack on Dan Honu II occurred around 10 pm on Wednesday, with the bandits using gunfire to terrorize the community before taking the woman and her children. Due to her deteriorating health, the woman was later abandoned in the bush, but the bandits took her three sons with them.
The police authorities in Kaduna State have yet to confirm these incidents, and there has been no official response from security agencies regarding the recent increase in attacks. Local sources reported that the bandits’ activities have heightened fears within the communities, especially following a similar kidnapping of journalists in the same area two months prior.
