James Walsh, a motorcycle racer from the Republic of Ireland, has died following a crash at the Tandragee 100 event this past Saturday. The incident occurred during the Senior Support race, which was immediately halted following the collision. Despite receiving emergency medical care at the scene and being transported to a hospital via air ambulance, Walsh succumbed to his injuries.
Earlier that same day, Walsh had successfully won the Junior Support race. The event organizers, the North Armagh Motorcycle & Car Club, issued a statement expressing their deep sorrow and offering condolences to his partner, mother, and loved ones. The club also extended its appreciation to the medical teams that provided assistance.
Following a two-hour delay to address the emergency, officials attempted to resume the race, but it was stopped once more. This marks the first fatality at the Tandragee 100 since 2017. Additionally, it is the second road racing death in Northern Ireland this year, following the passing of Kamil Holan at the North West 200 in May.
