A Magistrate’s Court located in Bauchi State has sentenced two men for their roles in a burglary case involving conspiracy, illegal entry, and theft. The Bauchi State Police Command oversaw the prosecution regarding the incident that occurred in the Liman Katagum area.
SP Nafiu Habib, the spokesperson for the police, confirmed the convictions on Thursday. The investigation started after a Bandan Village resident informed the Liman Katagum Police Division on June 27, 2026, that his home had been burglarized.
The convicted individuals are 28-year-old Iliyasu Musa and Ibrahim Isah, both residents of Baluwa Village. Authorities stated the pair forced entry into the victim’s home and took various items, including four mobile phones, a power bank, a wristwatch, two shirts, and N20,000 in cash. The total estimated value of the stolen goods reached N244,000.
Detectives successfully tracked and apprehended the suspects shortly after the report. During police questioning, both men acknowledged their involvement in the crimes. Following these confessions, they were brought before the court and subsequently convicted. CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State, commended the local police team for their diligent investigation into the matter.
