Two Suspected Abductors Slain by Ogun Police in Prince Kidnapping Case

Ogun State police officers killed two suspects during a firefight following the successful rescue of Prince Idris Adesulu, who had been abducted in Odogbolu.

Members of the Ogun State Police Command’s anti-kidnapping unit have fatally shot two suspects involved in the abduction of the Prince of Okun Owa, located in Odogbolu. Prince Idris Adesulu, also known as Osho, was seized by armed men outside his Ogbe road home around 7:30 p.m. on June 30, 2026.

While his family managed to flee the ambush, Osho was forcibly taken by the assailants. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that Commissioner CP Bode Ojajuni mobilized tactical teams immediately upon learning of the incident. The victim was successfully freed without injury on July 3, 2026.

Following the rescue, police tracked the suspects to the Agoro/Imodi area. A fierce gun battle ensued when the criminals opened fire on the approaching officers. Two kidnappers were killed in the exchange, while others managed to flee despite sustaining gunshot wounds. Officers recovered an AK-47 rifle, an empty magazine, two mobile phones, and a bag believed to be intended for ransom payments.

The deceased suspects have been taken to a government morgue for post-mortem examinations. Authorities are actively pursuing the remaining gang members. Commissioner Ojajuni praised the tactical teams for their professional handling of the mission and reiterated that the command will continue its efforts to eliminate criminal operations throughout the state. Residents are encouraged to maintain vigilance and report suspicious activities to the police.
