Three Nigerian nationals detained in India for drug trafficking

Indian authorities arrested three Nigerian men and seized narcotics valued at ₹23 crore, marking another high-profile case involving international drug trafficking networks.

Law enforcement officials in India have taken three Nigerian citizens into custody for their suspected roles in a global narcotics distribution ring. The operation led to the seizure of drugs with an estimated street value of ₹23 crore. The Central Crime Branch Anti-Narcotic Wing conducted the arrests in several locations.

The individuals taken into custody are 37-year-old Ambemo Victor, 36-year-old Chime Moses, and 33-year-old Karikari Ames. Police report that the men arrived in India on tourist and medical visas prior to their alleged shift into illicit activities. Officials tracked the group to a property under the Madanayakanahalli police jurisdiction.

Confiscated items during the raid included over 10 kilograms of MDMA crystals and more than 2 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis. Investigators suspect the group received these supplies from an associate based in Delhi. This action follows a series of recent detentions involving Nigerian citizens in India related to cybercrime and fraudulent activities, including incidents in Gurugram and Uttar Pradesh.
