Coalition Urges Federal Government to Disband PFIPC Over Fraud Allegations

A coalition group is calling for the immediate closure of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, citing lack of legal status and concerns over budget irregularities.

The Coalition for Truth and Justice has formally requested that the Federal Government dissolve the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The group asserts that the organization operates without legal authority and poses a significant risk of fraudulent activity.

Chief Henry Abba, who leads the coalition, highlighted that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi continues to identify as the Director General of the council, despite a clear disclaimer from the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. The government has explicitly stated that the council was never established and no such appointments were made.

The group expressed alarm over findings that the council was purportedly included in the 2026 Appropriation records with a budget exceeding ₦1 billion. They labeled this inclusion as a potential manipulation of the national budget process. Investigations by the coalition revealed that the entity lacks any mention in the Federal Government Gazette and its members were never formally inaugurated.

The coalition has demanded that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu initiate a thorough investigation into the origin and financial transactions of the PFIPC. They have also called upon the National Assembly and anti-corruption agencies to trace any public funds that might have been allocated or solicited by the group. The coalition insists that the government must address these irregularities to prevent further abuse of public trust.
