Soldiers from Operation HADIN KAI intercepted 675 litres of petrol in Adamawa State after suspected smugglers fled the scene. The incident was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Wednesday.
On June 29 at approximately 3:15 p.m., members of the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion conducting Operation Desert Sanity V encountered the smugglers along the Muva route in Mubi North Local Government Area. Upon noticing the military presence, the suspects abandoned their cargo and retreated into the surrounding brush. No arrests were recorded during the encounter.
The seized goods comprised 27 jerrycans of fuel. Officials suggest the supply was likely destined for terrorist groups to bolster their activities. The 247 Reconnaissance Battalion has secured the petrol for further investigation. This action aligns with the broader strategy of Operation HADIN KAI to cripple insurgent operations by restricting their access to vital logistics and fuel.
