The Kano State House of Assembly has initiated the review process for four executive bills submitted by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. During Tuesday’s plenary session, Speaker Jibril Isma’il Falgore read an official communication from the governor confirming that the State Executive Council had endorsed these legislative proposals.
The package of bills includes the 2025 legislation regarding local government administration, economic planning, education, and the legal framework for the Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Science and Technology in Danbatta. Governor Yusuf noted that these measures are intended to boost governance, refine service delivery, and support the state’s growth objectives.
Specifically, the Local Government Administration Bill aims to solidify council operations, while the Economic Planning and Development Council Bill focuses on creating a unified developmental strategy. The Education Bill is designed to modernize sector management, and the Audu Bako College bill seeks to provide a better legal foundation for the school’s expansion.
Speaker Falgore has directed these bills to the appropriate committees for detailed evaluation. Additionally, the Assembly has started the confirmation process for Kabiru Nasir Hassan, who was nominated as the Secretary for Kumbotso Local Government. Further legislative action will follow once committee findings are presented.
