Oyebanji Celebrates Victory as Ekiti Residents Call for Continued Progress

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has secured a second term in Ekiti, pledging to focus on household welfare and grassroots development after a decisive victory in the state’s governorship election.

Following his success in the recent governorship election, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has promised to prioritize the welfare of citizens and accelerate regional development during his second term. The Independent National Electoral Commission announced his victory early Sunday morning, confirming his win for the All Progressives Congress.

Oyebanji interpreted the election outcome as a clear signal of public trust and a collective demand for ongoing stability. With 319,224 votes, the governor surpassed his main opponent, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 40,543 votes, and ADC candidate Dare Bejide, who received 12,872 votes. Returning Officer Professor Adenike Oladiji confirmed these figures, noting that 384,940 voters were accredited.

The governor emphasized that this result places a heavier duty on his administration to extend governance benefits to more households. He urged residents to move past political divisions, suggesting that the focus should remain on shared prosperity and grassroots growth. Expressing gratitude for the unity shown by urban and rural voters alike, Oyebanji pledged to maintain a leadership style rooted in fairness and humility.
