The Anambra State Executive Council has sanctioned a N200 billion capital base for the newly formed Anambra Development and Investment Corporation (ADIC), with the state contributing 30 percent of the funds. Dr. Law Mefor, the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, announced that key state assets would be transferred to the corporation to bolster its operations.
ADIC is designed to serve as a hub for both private and corporate investment through public-private partnerships. Additionally, the government has greenlit the second cohort of the Code Anambra Talents Mastery program under the Solution Innovation District, an initiative aimed at nurturing local technology talent and addressing global demand for digital skills.
To combat environmental degradation, the state has reaffirmed its state of emergency on the environment. A compulsory sanitation exercise is scheduled for July 4, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., involving a temporary movement restriction to facilitate desilting and waste removal. Furthermore, the council approved over N315 million to restore power supply to the Uli community and the Chinweoke Mbadinuju Campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
