Zlatan Ibrahimovic Analyzes Sweden’s World Cup Defeat to France

Zlatan Ibrahimovic discusses Sweden’s 3-0 exit from the World Cup, pointing to defensive lapses while praising Graham Potter’s tactical decision to field two strikers.

Retired Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has offered his perspective on Sweden’s 3-0 loss to France during the World Cup Round of 32. The defeat eliminated Sweden from the tournament, allowing France to advance to the Round of 16.

Kylian Mbappe scored twice, and Bradley Barcola added another, securing the win for the French side. Ibrahimovic noted that while the Swedish team held their own during the opening 20 minutes, their tactical structure eventually collapsed.

Speaking on Fox Sports, Ibrahimovic highlighted a breakdown in defensive organization as the primary reason for the defeat. He did, however, commend Sweden’s manager, Graham Potter, for his tactical adjustments, specifically the decision to play two forwards in Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres while shifting to a four-man defensive line. Ibrahimovic noted that although the French performance was intimidating, he approved of the attacking approach Potter utilized.
