Crystal Palace is currently engaged in discussions to bring Evann Guessand back to Selhurst Park for a season-long loan from Aston Villa. The 25-year-old forward from the Ivory Coast spent the latter portion of the previous campaign with Palace, contributing to their Conference League victory this past May.
Guessand originally signed with Villa for £26 million last August, though his initial impact was limited, yielding only two goals across 21 matches. His tenure at Palace began in January, where he notably scored the deciding goal in a 1-0 victory against Wolves and participated in the final against Rayo Vallecano. Due to his earlier appearances for Villa in the competition, he also secured a Europa League winner’s medal.
Following his international participation with the Ivory Coast at the World Cup, where he made two appearances as a substitute, Guessand rejoined Villa for pre-season training. This comes after Palace declined their initial option to sign him permanently earlier in the summer.
