Jenny Shin successfully defended her lead to claim the Women’s Scottish Open title at Dundonald, despite a challenging final round. The South Korean golfer concluded with a score of nine under par after recording a 75.
A-Lim Kim finished as the runner-up, trailing by two strokes after an impressive 68, while Pajaree Anannarukarn of Thailand secured third place. This victory marks a significant milestone for Shin, representing her first title in over a decade and only her second LPGA Tour win in 368 starts. Following her final putt, an emotional Shin was celebrated by friends with a traditional dousing of water and champagne.
Scoring proved difficult for the field, as only 10 players finished under par. Charley Hull of England ended at 10 over, while world-renowned American Nelly Korda carded a 69 to tie for 16th place at two over. Athletes now turn their attention to the upcoming Women’s Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes, which begins this Thursday.
