Frank Lampard has officially committed his future to Coventry City, signing a new agreement that keeps him with the Premier League club until 2029. The announcement came on Tuesday following the manager’s successful campaign.
Last season, the 48-year-old former England star guided the Sky Blues to a first-tier promotion for the first time in 25 years by capturing the Championship title. Lampard, who previously managed Chelsea, Everton, and Derby, joined the Midlands team in November 2024. After a playoff semi-final loss to Sunderland in his initial season, he successfully elevated the squad the following year.
Reflecting on the achievement, Lampard expressed pride in representing the club and noted that the city fully celebrated the promotion victory. He emphasized that the focus has now shifted to preparation, noting that staff and players are diligently working on necessary improvements both on and off the pitch. The manager indicated he is eager to reunite with his squad to begin training for the upcoming challenges.
Coventry faces a difficult opening match upon their return to the top flight, as they travel to play the reigning champions, Arsenal, on August 21.
