Operation HADIN KAI troops have rescued 10 kidnapped NECO candidates and teachers in Borno State following an ISWAP attack, though one person remains missing and two security personnel were killed.

Operation HADIN KAI forces have successfully recovered 10 out of 11 NECO candidates and teachers who were seized by suspected ISWAP militants in Lassa, Borno State. Captain Mohammed Goni, the acting military spokesperson, confirmed that the assault occurred Monday morning while students were taking their exams at the Technical Secondary School.

The military responded by launching a massive rescue mission involving ground soldiers, tactical aircraft, and surveillance units. Following the insurgents to the Daggu region, troops engaged in a heavy firefight. All 10 rescued individuals were recovered without injuries and are now receiving medical attention. One victim remains in captivity, and the search for them continues.

During the confrontation, the military seized seven motorcycles belonging to the terrorists. Regrettably, one soldier and one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force died in the line of duty. Officials stated that security forces are currently bolstering defenses near schools and vulnerable neighborhoods. The military remains focused on dismantling terrorist networks in the North-East and has requested that the public share reliable information to aid their ongoing mission.
