President Bola Tinubu stated on Monday that the infrastructure initiatives led by his government are effectively stimulating the national economy. Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima during the inauguration of upgraded and expanded roads between the Karu Interchange and Customs Clinic Junction in Abuja, the President emphasized his commitment to infrastructure development.
These construction works represent a component of the events celebrating three years of the current administration. President Tinubu explained that these upgrades fulfill his pledge to alleviate urban traffic density and enhance the quality of life for residents. He highlighted that the project is a tangible result of his administration’s focus on grassroots development.
Reflecting on the state of the region three years ago, the President noted that the Karu corridor was plagued by heavy traffic that drained the productivity of those living there. He argued that the current expansion efforts go beyond mere construction, as they decrease commuting times, remove bottlenecks, and provide a better environment for local commerce to flourish. Additionally, the FCT Administration has installed solar-powered street lighting across the upgraded network to boost safety and visibility for nocturnal travelers.
