Soldiers from Operation WHIRL STROKE, working alongside the Benue State Civil Protection Guard, stopped a militant assault on the Tor Donga Yam Market. The mission resulted in the deaths of two suspected attackers and the seizure of several weapons.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the event on social media. He explained that troops were already patrolling the area when they received an urgent alert on Sunday. The soldiers reached the market quickly and exchanged fire with the armed group.
The two killed suspects were identified as Dantaraba and Golozo. Other militants escaped the scene, likely sustaining injuries. Among the recovered items were an AK-47 rifle, ammunition for both rifles and pistols, a damaged handgun, and various personal financial cards. Experts believe the soldiers’ rapid response saved many civilian lives and kept the local economy running smoothly.
