Federal University Wukari Prohibits Graduation Celebration Activities

Federal University Wukari has officially banned all student graduation celebrations, including T-shirt signing and processions, citing safety concerns and traffic risks.

The administration at Federal University Wukari has issued an immediate prohibition on all student sign-out events, citing significant safety and security risks. This mandate was formalized in a circular released on Thursday by the Academic Affairs Division, authorized by Academic Secretary Mr. Micah Sylvanus O. on behalf of the registrar.

The decision stems from the university Senate’s 76th regular session, conducted on May 26, 2026. The restriction encompasses all traditional graduation rites, including T-shirt autographing, dancing, and campus processions. Furthermore, the university has outlawed gatherings near campus gates and along the Katsina-Ala–Jalingo highway to prevent traffic congestion and potential hazards for students and the general public.

Students and associations are strictly forbidden from organizing convoys, hosting public processions, or engaging in the spraying of cash during celebrations. Campus security personnel have been instructed to enforce these regulations immediately and document any breaches. Management expects full student compliance, noting that failure to adhere to these new institutional rules will result in disciplinary action.
