Political analyst Imran Wakili asserts that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are facing long-term political instability linked to the influence of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal. In a recent statement posted to social media, Wakili suggests that the departure of key political allies from the party is directly attributable to Lawal’s actions.
The commentator specifically pointed to the exits of high-profile figures such as Bindow, Abbo, Binani, and Nyako as evidence of a hollowed-out party structure. Lawal, who officially departed from the ADC last month, has previously criticized the organization, labeling it a rigging machine and claiming it promotes narrow ethnic and religious agendas. Lawal further argued that these internal dynamics ultimately bolster the reelection prospects of President Bola Tinubu.
