Over a year since the passing of renowned Nollywood star John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, his widow is publicly requesting assistance from Nigerians. She reports that her household is facing severe economic hardship, preventing them from covering essential costs like rent, utility bills, and school tuition.
In a discussion with digital content creator King Mitchy, the family detailed their daily struggles following the actor’s death on March 2, 2024. The widow explained that the family has endured weeks without electricity, stating they must fetch water from a well and seek charging spots for their mobile devices elsewhere. She emphasized that the situation has become increasingly strenuous.
Furthermore, the family faces significant challenges regarding education, as unpaid fees have kept the children from attending classes. One of Mr Ibu’s daughters publicly praised her mother’s resilience and dedication to sustaining the family under such difficult circumstances. King Mitchy noted that the family chose to share their story publicly to solicit support from the community, hoping to recover from their ongoing financial instability.
