Anambra Police Dismiss Rumors of Military Helicopter Activity

Anambra Police have debunked viral social media claims regarding a military helicopter dropping objects in the state, labeling the reports as false alarms.

The Anambra State Police Command has officially refuted circulating online claims suggesting that a military aircraft deployed unknown objects into a forested area between Nimo and Adazi-Nnukwu. Authorities labeled these assertions as baseless and requested that the local population remain calm.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson, confirmed that officers arrived at the specified location shortly after the report surfaced on Thursday. A thorough investigation of the site found the surroundings secure, with no evidence of hazardous materials or criminal presence. Local residents have continued their daily routines undisturbed.

State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, urged citizens to stop sharing unverified reports that could incite anxiety. He emphasized the Command’s dedication to maintaining order through intelligence-based strategies and partnerships with community members. Residents are encouraged to report genuine security concerns to official channels rather than relying on social media rumors.
