Six additional individuals have been safely extracted from the remains of a residential building that fell in the Satellite Town neighborhood of Lagos on Thursday. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service received notification of the accident at 11:37 a.m., prompting an immediate deployment of responders from the Ijegun-Egba Fire Station, who reached the Old Ojo Road location by 11:49 a.m.
This multi-story residential structure was occupied at the time of the collapse. Previously, 10 people were recovered from the site with various injuries and transferred to medical professionals for urgent care. With these latest rescues, the total number of survivors currently stands at 16.
Emergency teams, including the Nigerian Navy, the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Fire Service, the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, and the Red Cross, are continuing to clear the debris. Search efforts remain active to locate anyone else who might still be buried. Official updates are expected as the mission continues.
