Scott Phelan confirmed as permanent Everton Women manager

Scott Phelan has transitioned from his interim role to become the permanent head coach of Everton Women following a successful finish to the last season.

Scott Phelan has officially been named the permanent head coach for Everton Women. He previously filled the role on an interim basis after replacing Brian Sorensen in February.

During his temporary tenure, the 38-year-old managed to guide the Toffees to an eighth-place finish in the Women’s Super League. Phelan inherited a squad sitting just four points above the bottom of the table and quickly secured three straight victories to stabilize the team. His long history with the club began as a youth player at age eight, and he later rejoined the organization as a coach in 2012.

Phil Jevons, the former Everton forward who also stepped in during February, will continue to serve as support for Phelan. Phelan expressed gratitude for the leadership role and shared his commitment to returning the club to the upper tier of the standings.
