Nasarawa, Yobe, and Jigawa Selected to Host NLO Promotional Playoffs

The Nationwide League One has selected Nasarawa, Yobe, and Jigawa to host the 2026 Division One promotional playoffs, where 16 teams will compete for four spots in the NNL.

The Nationwide League One (NLO) officially designated Nasarawa, Yobe, and Jigawa as the venues for the 2026 Division One promotional playoffs. These games are scheduled to take place between July 2 and July 7, 2026. The competition will see four Northern Zone clubs secure spots in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Sixteen teams have qualified from the league stage, divided into four distinct zones. North-Central Zone 1 consists of Mighty Jets Feeders FC, Bida Lions FC, La-Planet FC, and Flight FC, while North-Central Zone 2 features Mailantarki Care FC, Neurospark FC, Police Machine FC, and Kogi United. The North-East Zone includes FC Yarmalight, DMD FC, Makwanda Warriors FC, and Warinje FC. Finally, the North-West zone is composed of Musa FC, Katsina United Jnr, Zamfara United, and Jnr Danburam FC.

Games will be played at the August 27 Stadium in Dutse, Dutse Stadium, and Lafia Township Stadium, with each facility hosting a specific zone. Organizers confirmed that matches will occur simultaneously to ensure fair competition. The NLO has emphasized strict adherence to rules, warning against late arrivals, disciplinary issues, or incomplete player documentation, and has instructed State Football Associations to uphold standards of fair play.
