Governor Uba Sani has successfully addressed a 20-year transportation barrier in Giwa Local Government Area by overseeing the reconstruction of the Store Bridge. Located on the Marabar Yakawada–Kaya Road, this infrastructure project has significantly revitalized local economic and social conditions that previously suffered during rainy seasons.
Local residents expressed their appreciation during a recent media tour, noting that the bridge serves as a vital connection for farming, trade, and essential services. Prior to this intervention, the collapsed bridge forced residents into isolation and hampered access to healthcare and markets. Commercial driver Shehu Muharazu explained that the lack of a bridge previously compelled motorists to take long detours through Katsina State, leading to higher fuel expenses and increased danger.
Agricultural productivity also faced major setbacks, as farmers were frequently stranded when roads became impassable. Furthermore, healthcare access was critically compromised. According to resident Muhammad Aminu, the inability to traverse the area often led to dangerous delays for patients requiring emergency referrals from local primary health centers, contributing to avoidable health complications.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, stated that the project illustrates the administration’s focus on inclusive rural development. He emphasized that the bridge is more than a simple structure; it is a critical asset that restores stability to the region. The state government remains committed to investing in infrastructure that fosters economic growth and enhances the overall standard of living for rural populations.
